Inverter or Generator?

Start with your equipment, required runtime and a safe place to operate the power source.

An inverter converts battery power

It turns DC into AC. A separate battery supplies the energy; the inverter does not store it.

Plan your camping runtime

A battery system can supply quiet evening power. Capacity and conversion losses limit how long it lasts.

Generators need open outdoor space

Never run indoors or in a garage. Keep at least 20 feet from doors, windows and vents.

Check the whole RV system

Battery capacity, continuous watts, startup surge and safe connections all matter. Ask an installer about integration.

Read the equipment labels

Match voltage, frequency and wattage. A bigger inverter cannot increase your car socket rating.

Choose for your trip

Compare energy source, capacity, runtime and exhaust safety before choosing your setup.
