Heavy infestations or attics and crawl spaces full of droppings need professional cleanup.
Open doors and windows for 30 minutes before cleaning. Leave the area meanwhile.
Wear rubber or plastic gloves. Never sweep or vacuum urine, droppings or nesting material.
Spray with an EPA-registered disinfectant until very wet. Soak five minutes or follow the label.
Use paper towels. Put them in a covered garbage can emptied regularly.
Disinfect hard surfaces. Wash gloved hands, remove gloves, then wash hands with soap and warm water.
If you feel unwell, contact a doctor promptly and tell them about the exposure.
